River Safari is one of the three major zoos in Singapore, along with Singapore Zoo and Night Safari.
Many people go to the zoo and the night safari, but What’s in the River Safari? Should I go? Many people may be confused.
In this article, I’m going to summarize the River Safari, my actual impressions of it, and coupon information, so please refer to it if you are confused.
In conclusion, the River Safari, which takes about two hours to cool off and take a look around, is well worth the trip!
★KKday is the cheapest place to buy tickets for the River Safari. You don’t have to wait in line to get in, so check it out!
[Experience] Going to the River Safari to see the manatee of my dreams
Entrance to the River Safari
This was the day we planned to visit Singapore Zoo, River Safari, and Night Safari in one day.
It was too hot at the Singapore Zoo, so we started going back and forth between the River Safari and the zoo around noon.
▼ You can read more about Singapore Zoo in the following article.
The first step is to convert the voucher that you have reserved into an admission ticket.
The machine near the ticket counter at the Singapore Zoo allowed us to convert our River Safari, Night Safari, and Zoo vouchers into admission tickets at once.
This entrance ticket also has cute animals on it…!
We immediately entered the River Safari.
On the popular Amazon River Quest, we went down the river while watching the animals
First, we decided to ride the Amazon River Quest, which I was looking forward to.
It’s a ride that takes you down the river to see the animals.
The guidebook said it was popular and reservations were required, but it was not crowded at all.
We were able to ride right away.
Maybe it was because the day we went was a weekday?
Reading other people’s travelogues, it seems that on Saturdays and Sundays, reservations are sometimes closed in the morning.
This Amazon River Quest, where you get on a boat and then get lifted up by a big elevator, was a surprise, lol!
Singapore has a lot of innovative things that will blow your mind…
There are some powerful scenes where we go down with a bang, but at the same time, we take it easy.
とIt’s fun to see all the animals here and there!
However, it was quite hot and the animals were exhausted.
Even though there were signs for the animals, they were often not visible.
I’m sure they were cooling off somewhere in the shadows.
Colorful Drosophila ibis.
Seeing the animals on a boat is still exciting!
You may not be able to see as many animals during the day, but it was a recommended attraction.
Manatee, said to be the model for mermaids
Next we came to a tank of manatees, which are said to be the model for mermaids.
The manatee is in danger of extinction and has been designated as an international protected animal…
It’s hard to find a place in Japan where you can see so many manatees, so this is a precious spot.
There are many manatees in a large tank, and they seem to be having a meal.
They were all desperately trying to eat the seaweed floating on the surface of the water.
Just this big tank is really mysterious.
I was so happy the time I spent here watching the manatees.
Exploring the Eight Great Rivers of the World
River Safari is a park dedicated to the creatures that live in rivers, not oceans.
The park recreates the world’s eight great rivers.
The world’s most famous rivers are yours to explore!
There was a large aquarium that recreated the Mississippi, Nile, Ganges, Congo, Mekong, Yangtze, and Murray Rivers.
It was quite a powerful exhibit.
By the way, you can see the Amazon River at RiverQuest.
We even found a cute otter!
They were swimming freely as if they were flying, and I was kind of jealous.
Meet the Giant Panda
You can also meet giant pandas at River Safari.
Why are there pandas on the River Safari? You may be wondering…
Pandas are naturally cool creatures and the Singapore Zoo was too hot for them…
The pandas were carefully raised in the cool, air-conditioned environment of the River Safari.
They’re so cute! They were munching on bamboo leaves the whole time, so I was only able to get the same shot, but…
There are two pandas at River Safari, but they were raised in different places.
They don’t seem to have a good relationship right now. It would be nice to see them spending time together again.
Take a break at the cute panda cafe
After that, we came to the Panda Cafe.
This is the first time I’ve been to a Panda Cafe.
We ordered the “Panda Man” with chocolate inside.
I’m not sure what to make of it.
I’m not sure if it’s a good thing or not.
We spent a happy time surrounded by pandas.
After this, we had to leave the River Safari behind and go on a night safari!
My impressions of the River Safari. Who would you recommend it to?
I actually went on a River Safari and felt the following.
・Many of the areas are air-conditioned and quite cool.
・There is a roof over the outside area, so you don’t have to worry about rainy days.
・It takes about two hours to go around, so it’s easy to go along with the zoo and night safari.
・The large tank is easy to see even for children with low eyesight.
・Much less crowded than zoos and night safaris.
Recommended for people like
・People who like fish and pandas
・People don’t like hot weather.
・People with small children
・People don’t like crowded places.
If you have a short time in Singapore, I think it is fine to visit Singapore Zoo only.
However, it was quite hot at the Singapore Zoo, so if you don’t like hot weather, I thought you could go back and forth between the River Safari and the zoo.

Reviews from people who went on a river safari with KKday
River Safari is located in the same place as the other zoos, so we printed our tickets at the common kiosk and entered the park. It was a weekday when the park was almost open, so there were very few people, and we got two boat rides with zero wait time, and even got a set lunch, which was really too much for the cost!
It has a great atmosphere, like a date spot. We were able to see crocodiles moving and swimming. There are also pandas and red pandas, so it is recommended for children. If you buy tickets at kkday, you don’t have to wait in line and can act smoothly.
Many people said that they were able to buy tickets without waiting in line, and that their activities went smoothly.

You can take the train and bus, but it often takes about an hour and a half each way.
If you take a cab directly from your hotel in the center to the zoo, it will take about 20 minutes.
If you want to go easy, I recommend taking a cab.
We went by Grab for $20

What to bring on a river safari
Finally, here is a list of things you should bring with you on a river safari.
In Singapore, dengue fever can be contracted from mosquito bites.
A fever of nearly 40 degrees Celsius and even death can occur in some cases, so take proper measures to prevent mosquito bites.
Singapore is a country with quite a bit of sunshine.
It is hot and humid and you will sweat, so bring a strong water-proof sunscreen.
Let’s relax and heal at the River Safari
River Safari is the world’s largest freshwater biological park.
It was an interesting place with many creatures that are hard to see in Japan.
What can I say, it is quite comfortable to look around, which is rare in Singapore where many places are not air-conditioned.
Try to relax in a cool place while looking at the large tank.
Have a great trip!
